| October 31, 2007 – Clive Barker’s Jericho is about a military group that handles occult disturbances from around the world. Armed with machine guns, sniper rifles, and your occasional mini-gun, the witty banter and questionable dialog gives Jericho a bit more than your usual First Person shoot em up. With Jericho you start out as Captain Ross who has been assigned to check out a disturbance from an old city that uncovered itself. With a half start crew and a promiscuous priest you charge into the unearthed city to find out exactly what is going on. |

With Jericho, the first level is like any FPS, you spend time getting to know the controls and how to play your character. Jericho introduces things like squad control and unlike most FPS’s you only get 1 gun per each player.

"Jericho has amazing graphics that will keep you in awe"
Once you get inside and start getting a feel and control for the game you are constantly bombarbeded by these groups of monsters coming at you from front, back and each side. Also unlike most FPS's you don't pick up any ammunition for your gun, instead reaching a checkpoint will refill all your ammo, but if you haven't reached the checkpoint 2 of your squad members will give you limited ammunition of needed. If a squad member falls during battle there's no need to worry during the 1st level Captain Ross and the Priest have the ability to heal fallen comrades, so they can get back up after getting downed.

"All squad members have special abilities including healing fallen comrades"
Jericho is not the "Smart" man's FPS like Half-Life or Portal, it's a straight forward punch into the depths of this infernal city with lots of fighting and lots of banter amongst the team. Also who are made with the highest detail including a member who is in what I wouldn't consider "regulation" uniform to a priest decked out to battle with Hell itself.

"The women all love leather."
After the first level Captain ross has a well...mishap and dies. After that Ross for some reason stayed around only able to move from one squad member to the next giving you a full range of access of each of the characters. If you're looking for a super puzzle based shooter that will have you ripping your hair out trying to find out how to get to the next level, Jericho is not for you. If you want a simple shoot-em-up and kill anything that moves. Then Jericho is the prime FPS for you. With superb graphics and the ability to make you feel you were there, Jericho definately didn't slack when it game to eye candy.

"Jericho has an amazing atmosphere to where you can just stop playing for a second and admire."
Jericho is a good game to sit back relax, turn the sound system up and jump at every little turn. It sucks you in and keeps you waiting for that next onslaught that you know is coming. If you have the money to spend pick it up it's worth atleast trying. If you have a secluded list of games you must buy buried under your sink in a DaVinci type lock, I would suggest scratching this game off of it. Though it's effects are amazing the linear areas and constant barrage will get old quick and will start to wear on you. If you enjoy cussing and squad members slowly repeating themselves with the same line after awhile. This may be the game for you.
