MASSACRE IN WINTERSPRING

An article recently appeared in PC Gamer referring to a video that has been making its way around the net lately. The video documents a premeditated, organized in-game raid on a funeral for a girl who died in the real world. Dozens of mourners were slaughtered in the raid as they cried for mercy. The leader of the raiding was said to have commented on how they were just trying to get PVP going on the Realm.
"On the day of the funeral, as both Horde and Alliance players queued up to pay their respects to Fayejin's avatar (logged on by friends for the event), a large guild of Alliance players descended upon the peaceful gathering. Catching everyone off-guard the raiders slaughtered every last Horde player in attendance. The group resonsible, a guild called Serenity Now, then released a video of the attack, eliciting a hell-storm of public outcry over the depravity and lack of respect the massacre showed.

DIRECTV SET TO BROADCAST CPL WINTER EVENTS

The Cyberathlete Professional League (CPL) has entered into an exclusive agreement with DIRECTV to broadcast the CPL Winter Championships. Apparently the event will be covered by actual commentators, with interviews, back stories and the whole 9 yards. This is just a continuation of the growing trend of gaming going mainstream and that of online competitive gaming being treated as a real sport. Read the full story below.
